About the Founder
Mallika Luthar is an Economic Mobility consultant based in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to reshaping the landscape of opportunity for creatives. As a DJ and dancer herself, she’s immersed in the artistic world, drawing inspiration from the resilience and brilliance of fellow artists who push forward despite the challenges of the creative career—low wages, inconsistent schedules, lack of benefits, and limited pathways for growth.
Driven by the belief that creativity is essential to a thriving society, Mallika founded B-Side Arts to build a more equitable creative economy, one artist at a time. With degrees in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and over a decade of experience driving social impact, she brings bold vision and deep expertise to the mission of empowering artists. Mallika is committed to creating lasting change, ensuring that creatives have not only the resources but the recognition and support they deserve to flourish.
